Amber Chiang is a voice and piano instructor, professional singer/songwriter who knew she wanted to spend her life doing music.
Renowned for her beautiful, melodious voice, Amber delights audiences with her song interpretations and jazz stylings. Mixed in with jazz standards, she often performs her own compositions which tell a story of her life relationship experiences. Audiences around the world are moved by her emotional honesty. Inspired by her love of music, she has taught piano and voice for over 25 years in NY, CA and now virtually. Music is an important part of education, and has so many benefits. You'll enjoy the fun, no pressure environment as you learn at your own pace. Her philosophy is to make learning fun and no exams, although she is consistently testing your knowledge to make sure you understand the music concepts.
Amber received her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. While living in Boston, she discovered jazz, and volunteered as a DJ at WTBS (now WMBR) where she became immersed in the music. Her jazz styling influences are a combination of Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn and Betty Carter as well as various Brazilian artists and popular music.

She has appeared as a soloist at venues around the world singing jazz and pop music, with jazz greats among whom are Fred Hersh, Garry Dial, Richie Cole and George Coleman Sr; in clubs including the Blue Note in New York City. And she appeared as a guest soloist at the 2000 Southern California Summer Special Olympics.
Amber has also participated in ensemble groups such as the Masterworks Chorale in NYC, and the Verdi Opera Chorus of Southern California; and currently volunteers at the Senior Center in Irvine leading/accompanying the Sing-Alongs.

She received “Honorable Mention” for two of her original songs from the Billboard World Song Contest and produced a CD of 13 original songs.
She plays some flute and recorder. She speaks Chinese Mandarin and is an accomplished Ballroom dancer and also an artist of Chinese brush painting - Here's "Love Doves".
