I saw him and created a dream

I saw him, it was a beautiful scene

My dreams I thought would all come true

I thought it was because of you.

 

Who are you?  I never asked

I only saw what I wanted to see

I lost all sense of reality

I was living in my fantasy

 

My mind fooled my heart

But my heart really knew

I didn’t want to see

I knew it was only a matter of time

That it could never be

 

How long could I make this fantasy last?

I wanted it so bad

Until one day my eyes really saw

Who was this man?  I never asked.
